CWA work continues despite restrictions

The Woy Woy branch of the Country Women’s Association has continued with its charity work despite coronavirus restrictions.
“After closing our hall to hirers in mid March and unable to meet every Wednesday, we adapted and started accepting donations for other organisations to be ready for the cooler months,” said branch publicity officer Ms Emily Bowtell.
“None of us knew what Covid-19 would bring or how long it would last.
“Over the past four weeks we have supplied winter clothing and bedding to 50 locals doing it tough.
“We have given much needed clothing and bedding to Central Coast Disaster Relief, Because We Care Boutique Central Coast, Evolution Youth Service, Coast Community Connections and Phoenix Youth Support Service.”
Ms Bowtell said: “None of this would be possible without the generous donations from our community.
“The quality of the second hand goods was fantastic – our community rallied and responded.”
She said the branch encouraged anyone who was or knew someone who was in need of winter clothing or bedding to contact them.
