Injured passenger airlifted from Umina

A rescue helicopter was called to Umina Oval in the early hours of October 2 to airlift to hospital a passenger injured in a motor vehicle accident on Patonga Rd, Pearl Beach.
It was reported that a car had collided with a tree at high speed with the occupants suffering serious injuries.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to the job at 12:45am.
Ambulance service paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team treated and stabilised the 16-year-old male passenger with multiple injuries.
He was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition for further treatment.
Mr Graham Nickisson from the helicopter service said it was not known how many occupants were in the single vehicle accident or their injuries.
