Group holds spring weekend
The Wagstaffe-Killcare Community Association has held its Bouddi Spring Weekend across the October long weekend.
A total of $1894 was raised for the school and the association benefited too with $739 raised for it.
Association president Mr Graeme Anderson said it was great to see the entire community get involved in the weekend festivities.
"The weather may have been terrible and a few things called off but all-in-all the association is pleased with the response," vice president Ms Robyn Warburton said.
"There was no pet show at MacMasters Beach but their book sale was successful.
"There was a constant stream of people willing to find a bargain among the very good books for sale.
"Many people watched the raising of the flags at Killcare Beach on Saturday morning and the Moon Rise Dinner, held for the community on Sunday night, was a sell-out.
"The U-Bouddi Big Band was appreciated by kiosk customers on Sunday with their sound big and beautiful.
"Killcare shops had a busy time keeping up with demand.
"The artists were pleased with the art fair."
"The Garden Club, Walsingham and the Bushcare stalls sold out of the cakes, jams, plants and other goodies.
"The Bouddi Society gained some members, sold some books and aroused interest in old photos."
